Variety of different rods to use. We have bait casters, overheads and even fly rods for the adventurous.
All our rods are set up with a minimum of 30lb braid and 40lb leader. We use single barbless hooks.
We have a huge variety of styles and profiles to best work out what the fish are biting on.
Will help you improve your technique, casting distance or aim with some tips and tricks.
We have massive respect for the fish in our care, and to protect the bio-security risk to our entire farm we prefer anglers use the equipment we supply. You can be assured it’s fit to purpose and will enable you to land a metre plus Barra, if you’re lucky and skilled enough to do so. For lures we use everything from 8” soft plastics surface minnows to deep water vibes bouncing along the bottom, and everything in between. How you move the style of lure is just as important as the choice when it comes to barra.
Many people ask about using their own equipment. For the aforementioned reasons, we’re hesitant to allow this, but can sometimes allow it if you meet our conditions and requirements. If you do wish to bring your own rod, make sure you arrive early to your session, have it rigged ready to go, and it will need to be sterilized before being used on our water. We will want to check the drag and condition of the equipment before use. Make sure you meet our minimum requirements, outlined above, to avoid disappointment. Please inform one of our friendly staff when checking-in so we can make sure everything is in order.
