We were lucky to have VIP treatment as onky ones on that time slot before more customers came. The staff have so much knowledge helping us to catch barras. I caught an 88cm and my partner 90cm along with others and many bites. We bought one of the ones we caught to bring home for dinners over 4kg yummy. The crew showed us techniques with different lures (I loved the frog) definately will be back for another visit. I recommend the 2 half hour if you really want to try to catch the big ones well worth the money Thanks guys was an awesome few hours.

The boys had a good time Hooking a Barra. Matt was very informative and friendly. Rob was very helpful with tips for hooking a barra. We had fish & chips for lunch there, fresh from the pond.Highly recommend going there.

This was the absolute best fish and chips we've ever had. The crust was beautifully crisp and the fish was tender and absolutely perfect. The guys there was super nice and gave great recommendations of what to try. Between the fish sandwich and fish tacos, it made for an incredible lunch

What a brilliant experience! The team at Hook-a-Barra are LOVELY, so friendly, knowledgeable and cannot do enough for you. Their passion really shines through and they really want you to have a good time, so they do everything they can to make that happen.From the low key briefing at the start (which was - suprisingly - super interesting) to the fishing experience and then the food afterwards, I couldn't have asked for a more fun day out. Thank you.If you've never heard of Hook-A-Barra (we hadn't, we just saw the boards as we drove past) and are looking for an activity for the whole family (even those that have never fished before or even those who've fished loads, they have something for everyone) then get online and book a session. Super easy to get to and plenty of parking.

Did not disappoint do the 2.5hr option 1hr just goes by way to fast.Enjoy the food after your fish great way to spend a few hours on holidays. 100% do this.

Our 8-year-old son loves to fish. The team were great, notably Bonnie who went out of her way to try to give him the best experience. Unfortunately he didn't have any luck catching a fish however was able to reel a decent barra in!

Great experience to catch a huge fish and reel it in. The staff were friendly and made the experience the best with tips on casting, speed of bringing the lure in to attract fish. They helped us all catch a fish. Fantastic

Absolutely loved our experience at Hook-A-Barra! 🎣 We landed some impressive 3kg fish and the team went above and beyond to make sure my 11-year-old son was looked after and involved. Highly recommend Hook A Barra! We did the farm and fishing experience and it was fantastic. The kids loved it! It was great seeing how the farm works and what goes into running a Barramundi farm. If you are thinking of doing this experience, definitely book with these guys! The staff couldn’t help enough and were very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great day!!

I had such a wonderful experience here! The fish is incredibly fresh—probably the best I’ve had in a long time. You can really taste the quality, and everything was prepared beautifully. On top of that, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone who loves fresh seafood and great service!

What a quality product! This is a wonderful place to hone your skill set! Who ever thought of setting up a business like this should be commended…..We took a 3.4 Kg Barra and had it cooked at our favourite seafood restaurant in Port Douglas. Absolutely delicious!!!

Awesome time with the team from Hook a Barra, from Port Douglas pick up, farm tour, included delicious lunch and of course the fishing experience was all fantastic. I hadn’t fished before and was a little hesitant at first not confident about casting the line, although with a few pointers and guidance I eventually was partly successful to cast my own line and to my surprise caught my very first fish!Thanks team for an incredible experience, definitely would recommend this to everyone and we will be back when we visit the area again!

My wife and I visited from Sydney with our 3 young sons. What an amazing experience! All of us managed to catch at least one Barra. Steve is a lovely bloke - very patient and attentive and was quick to offer tips to ensure everyone was successful. Great food as well. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

We visited here twice in a week, both days were a success with catching barramundi with the help of the knowledgeable friendly staff! My husband learnt alot about fishing for Barramundi! We also had lunch there both times which was lovely.Special shoutout to Amos for dropping my nephew’s hat that he left there, to our accommodation in port Douglas 🙏

Saw this while staying in Wonga Beach and decided that this would be fun, so booked a session. The Welcome and Induction was great, informative and useful. Got some great tips as well. Then the fun started. Went to the ponds and crew were great. Helped with suggestions on casting and reeling in when a fish was caught. Ended up catching many Barra... catch and release but kept one for dinner. Thankyou to the friendly and helpful staff. Had a great time. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

We had a great time at Hook-A-Barra. The team are lovely and Darren went out of his way to make sure my son caught a barra before we left. Awesome time and thoroughly recommend going for a visit. The fish and chips are awesome too, nothing like fresh fish. Check them out if you are up Port Douglas way!

A fellow tourist on the Sailaway tour recommended checking these guys out, though my husband & I hadn't planned to go any further north of Port Douglas Im sure glad we did. Only "just up the road" 30mins-ish you'll get the opportunity to fish for Barramundi & pretty much gaurenteed to land one. The team especially Daza / Darryn was awesome. He had great tips especially if you've never targeted Barra before. Through time & patience he helped me with a pity cast that got me out of the small pond into the champions were I landed my biggest fish ever a 98cm Barra! Had lunch before we left which was also great, Highly recommend to avid fisho's & families alike

Relaxing and lots of fun watching. We popped in for a bit of a look and some food. We don’t fish but loved watching everyone having a go. Especially all of the kids.At first we didn’t think there were any fish in the ponds but when we went close there were lots and some very very big ones! I think they were just teasing the people fishing.We had the tasting plate and it was so delicious!!!

Unreal experience!!!Cafe food was fresh and tasty.Staff are really helpful especially Dazza he is unreal with the kids. My 2 boys 7&10 nailed a few each some. Kids havent stopped talking about it since we left
